Tree Removal Noble Park
Razor Blade Tree Specialists handles tree work throughout Noble Park, from the streets around Douglas Street and Buckley Street to homes near Memorial Drive, Chandler Road and the Yarraman end of the suburb. Many Noble Park properties are units and smaller blocks, so we plan each job around tight access. We are family owned, have been operating since 2006 from Narre Warren North, and send our own crew with a Level 5 qualified arborist. Quotes are free.
About The Area
Noble Park is in the City of Greater Dandenong, about 25 km south-east of the CBD and 4 km from Dandenong. Allan Buckley subdivided the land in 1909 and named it after Alfred Nobel, and everyday use turned that into Noble Park. Before housing took over, the area was grazing paddocks and market gardens, and in the early 1920s the Railway Department ran a poultry farm here, followed by a plant nursery in the east of the suburb.
Today Noble Park has about 10,200 homes, and roughly a third are apartments, about twice the share across metropolitan Melbourne. In practice that means plenty of shared driveways, small courtyards and common property, where getting a tree out safely depends more on planning than on machinery.
Creeks and reserves. Mile Creek (also called Miles Creek) runs through the town centre as a concrete-lined flood channel, except for its last section east of Chandler Road. Yarraman Creek forms the eastern boundary, with retention ponds, linear parks and forested reserves along it, and the EastLink Trail follows both creeks. The Djerring Trail, finished in 2018 along the Caulfield to Dandenong rail corridor, links the station, skate park and aquatic centre. Parkfield Reserve holds a River Red Gum classified by the National Trust of Australia. Greater Dandenong notes that River Red Gums can live for up to 1000 years and take more than a century to form hollows.
Permit rules. Since Council endorsed the Tree Protection on Private Land Local Law 2023 in December 2023, you need a permit to remove a tree with a trunk diameter of 40 cm or more at 1.4 metres above ground. A non-owner applying needs the owner's consent, and council wants an independent arborist's report with the application. Council lists fees of $113 per tree and $85 per application. Pruning is exempt when done to AS 4373-2007 by a qualified arborist, with before and after photos kept.
The state's Clause 52.37 also applies in residential zones from 15 September 2025, covering canopy trees over 5 metres tall, with trunks more than 0.5 metres around at 1.4 metres and canopies 4 metres or wider. Where a planning permit is required, council assesses the tree under the planning scheme rather than the local law. Call council on 8571 1000 with your address if you are unsure.
Getting there. Heatherton Road, the Princes Highway and EastLink frame much of the suburb, and both Noble Park and Yarraman stations sit on the Pakenham and Cranbourne line, so we time work on busy frontages carefully.
What We Do
Noble Park jobs are often about space. We remove trees from small backyards and courtyards where everything has to come out in sections, prune branches off roofs, gutters and shared fences, trim hedges and screening plants, remove palms and grind stumps so courtyards can be paved or replanted. We also provide storm and emergency work, bamboo removal, arborist reports for Greater Dandenong permit applications, and mulching and green waste removal. Where a tree is protected, we can often suggest pruning to the standard as an alternative to removal.
Why Razor Blade
We are a family business that has been looking after trees since 2006, and we keep the job in our own hands. A Level 5 qualified arborist assesses the tree, and our own crew does the work, with no subcontractors. On Noble Park's unit blocks and shared driveways, that means one team that knows the plan and talks to neighbours before starting. We are fully insured with $20 million public liability and work 7am to 5pm, with 24/7 emergency call outs. Quotes are free, with no obligation, and we clean up properly afterwards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which council handles tree permits in Noble Park?
The City of Greater Dandenong. Its planning enquiries line is 8571 1000, and you can email council@cgd.vic.gov.au.
When do I need a permit to take a tree down in Noble Park?
When the trunk is 40 cm or more in diameter at 1.4 metres above ground, under the Tree Protection on Private Land Local Law 2023. Large canopy trees can also trigger a planning permit under Clause 52.37. We tell you which applies at the quote.
I live in a unit block. Who has to apply?
Council requires the owner's consent when the applicant is not the owner. For trees on shared land in a unit block, that may mean getting agreement from the owners corporation before an application goes in.
How much will it cost to remove a tree from a small Noble Park backyard?
Tight access usually means the tree comes down in sections and is carried out by hand, which takes longer than an open-access job. Size, species, condition and what is underneath also count. We give a free on-site quote, and council fees are separate.
What species do you see in Noble Park?
Mostly garden trees on home blocks. River Red Gums are the standout native. Parkfield Reserve has one classified by the National Trust, and council's green wedge plan also lists Manna Gum, Swamp Gum and Swamp Paperbark in remnant vegetation in the municipality.
Do I need a permit just to prune?
Not usually, if a qualified arborist prunes to AS 4373-2007, the arborist's qualifications are provided and before and after photos are kept. We prune to that standard.
Can you come out after a storm?
Yes. Call 0481 111 804 for 24/7 emergency call outs. Keep away from damaged trees and any fallen wires until the area is safe.
Can I send photos before booking a quote?
Yes. Photos of the whole tree, the trunk base and the path from the street to the tree help us see what is involved. Email info@razorbladetreespecialists.com.au or text 0481 111 804.
